With 40 years of experience as a nurse, I am the lead nurse at Castle Medical Group and support the nursing team in maintaining a high standard of health care provision to the Practice population. In my daily role, I provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care using advanced autonomous clinical skills and a broad and in depth knowledge base. I am also able to prescribe medication in a safe and effective manner. I also specialise in cervical cytology and contraception.

I joined Castle Medical Group in 2006. I have been a Healthcare assistant since 2007. I do phlebotomy, NHS health checks, ECG’s, wound care, diabetes reviews, immunisations which include B12, influenza and pneumococcal injections. I am in the process of completing a respiratory course. I enjoy my job role and the ongoing learning opportunities.

Castle Medical Group Practices’ district nursing team can visit you at home if you are housebound and require treatment.

Health visitors

Promote health in all age groups and give support to people in their homes, particularly mothers with young children.

Health visitors advise on matters such as feeding, weaning, immunisations, and some of the developmental checks to review your child’s progress.
